Using the Seacost Fencing Club and The Healing Horses program as an example, the presenter will demonstrate the beneficial influence of participation in regular, main stream sport activities on social skills and daily living skills. Practical pointers on how to successfully structure an inclusive program will be included. The presentation will include following topics:
  1. Basics of neurobiological influence of exercise on person with ASD
  2. Seacost Fencing Club as an example of club structure that supports social skills building and integration into main stream program.

    3. The choice of weapon
    4. Support for instructors
  3. The Healing Horses program as an example of building daily living skills and self esteem
    1. Family participation
    2. Mix group participation
  4. Depending on available time a Q&A time may be allowed.
