Victoria Vasquez Ikerd-Schreiter es una mama con dos hijos con autismo y también trabaja como abogado de educación especial. Jennifer Ruiz también tiene dos hijos con autismo y trabaja como defensor de derechos para ninos con autismo en educación especial, y también trabaja como asistente de Victoria en audiencias. Ellas van a presentar información, con perspectivo de padre, sobre los derechos de padres en educación especial, como abogar para su hijo, y sobre servicios públicos como Medicaid, SSI, y Centro Regional. - Victoria Vasquez Ikerd-Schreiter is a mom of two children with autism and a special education attorney. Jennifer Ruiz also has two children with autism and works both as a special education advocate and as a paralegal to Victoria in Due Process cases. They will be presenting information, from the parent perspective, regarding the rights of parents in Special Education, how to advocate for your child, and public benefits such as Medicaid, SSI, and Regional Centers.

Victoria Vasquez Ikerd-Schreiter
Victoria is a San Diego based bilingual attorney, mom of two children with special needs, and has worked over 10 years protecting the rights of children and adults with disabilities. Her practice consists mostly of representing families at IEP meetings, Due Process Resolution Conferences, Mediations and Hearings involving special education issues. She has worked helping families and children as the Parents Coordinator at the San Diego Regional Center and has served on the boards of many disability organizations. She is bilingual, a veteran, and her children are Navy dependants.
Jennifer Ruiz
Jennifer is a bilingual Paralegal and Advocate for families and children with disabilities throughout San Diego County and surrounding areas. She is a mom of two children with special needs who are retired military dependents. She has been very involved in the disability community for almost a decade. She has worked for TASK to help train parents to advocate for their own children, is COPAA Trained, STOMP trained for military families of special needs and is SEAC trained and Certified through USD.
