For many upper elementary, middle and high school students with autism, an academic track of learning will not help them reach their potential. Focusing efforts on fostering independence, improving communication and adaptive behavior is necessary to ensure a quality of life post-21. This workshop will focus on appropriate assessment, goal selection and implementation strategies for non academic students with autism.
Learning Objectives:
- Workshop participants will have a better understanding of assessment and goal selection for on academic students with autism.
- Workshop participants will have an enhanced view of what options are available post-21 for non-academic students with autism.
- workshop participants will understand how community based instruction is integrated inot a school based program.

Anne Holmes is Chief Clinical Officer for Eden Autism Services and is on the Autism Society’s Panel of Professional Advisors. Ms. Holmes has worked in the field of autism for over thirty years. She has written numerous papers and articles and is the primary editor of Eden’s curriculum series.
