This comprehensive support model for families of individuals with autism spectrum disorders was developed at West Virginia Autism Training Center funded, in part, by Centers for Disease Control. Critical components are: family and person-centered-planning, support teams of family, school personnel and others involved in focus family’s life, workshops related to autism intervention best practices, development and implementation of a comprehensive, individual support plan for each focus family and on-line system for data-based decision-making and analysis regarding student and family outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will gain knowledge of the critical components of this intensive level support model for families
  • Participants will learn about some of the outcomes families are realizing after participating in FFSASD
