One of the core features of an autism spectrum diagnosis is difficulty with play/social skills. This presentation will focus on play skills and how to help adults with developing therapeutic interventions for the preschooler with ASD. Dr. Bellando will review research about play skill deficits in children with ASD and describe how these deficits impact the child in their preschool setting. We will also address how adults can intervene to improve these skills at the individual, dyad and group level.
Goals for this session are to:
  • review current research about social/play deficits for the child with ASD
