#3010- Project Mosaic and ANGELS Center: An Innovative University-Community Partnership
This session describes an innovative university-community partnership to meet to meet the unique needs of individuals with ASD. Project Mosaic prepares educators in a state-of-the-art Autism Spectrum program at San Francisco State University. ANGELS (Autism Network for Global Education and Lifelong Support)is an inclusive community center devoted to supporting children and adults with ASD and their family and friends.

Presenters:Pamela Wolfberg, Ph.D., San Francisco State University, Associate Professor - Pamela Wolfberg, Ph.D. is Associate Professor and directs the Autism Spectrum Program at San Francisco State University. As originator of the Integrated Play Groups model, she leads efforts to develop inclusive peer play programs worldwide. She is widely published and the recipient of distinguished awards for her research and practice.

Pam LePage, Ph.D., San Francisco State University, Asst. Professor - Pamela LePage, Ph.D. is a parent of a child with autism and special education professor at San Francisco State University. She has also worked at Stanford and George Mason Universities and as a special educator for 11 years. Her research interests are in teacher education and at-risk children. She is the author and co-editor of several books including: Transforming Teacher Education: Lessons in Professional Development, Educational Controversies: Towards a Discourse of Reconciliation, and Preparing Teachers for a Changing World: What Teachers Should Learn and Be Able to Do and From Disadvantaged Girls to Successful women: Education and Women's Resiliency.

Erlinda Borromeo, Autism Network for Global Education and Lifelong Support, Executive Director - Erlinda Borromeo is a grandparent of a child with autism and founder and director of the Autism Network for Global Education and Lifelong Support (ANGELS). She is overseeing this inclusive community based center, which serves children and adults on the autism spectrum with family and friends. While leading efforts to develop state-of-the-art programs and services at ANGELS, she is completing an advanced degree in the Autism Spectrum graduate program (Project Mosaic) at San Francisco State University.
