Two Autistic couples, Jerry and Mary Newport and Jody and Emilia Ramey, present their responses to three questions: What prep work did you do before marriage that in hindsight you were very glad to have done; What is one creative solution that you had to a specific marital issue that was successful; and what did you wish you would have known before getting married that you found out later? Q & A follows.

Presenters:Jody John Ramey, M.S., Disability Advocacy Cultural Association @ Portland State University, Board Member - Jody John Ramey: M.S. Theater Arts, course work emphasis, disability and the performing arts. Inclusive Dance Educator/Artist (Dance for people with and without disabilities). Affiliations with multiple autism and dance organizations. On-call worship dance leader, Rehoboth Messianic Congregation. Speaks on autism, disability, and education related issues in the U.S. and abroad. Autism spectrum diagnosis.

Emilia Murry Ramey, Disability Advocacy Cultural Association @ Portland State University, Board Member - Recently graduated from Portland State University with a B.A. in Applied Linguistics. Studied biblical living at Montana Bible College, and culinary arts at Montana State University's vocational school. Despite a recent diagnosis of Asperger’s, she delved immediately into self-advocacy, speaking in the US and abroad, to improve life for herself and others like her. She worked for a while as a cake decorator and enjoys dancing in her husband's performances. Hobbies include quilt design, knitting, and developing verb charts.

Gerald (Jerry) Newport, B.A., Self, Author, Advocate, Individual with AS and has Spouse with AS, Taxi Driver - Jerry Newport has Asperger Syndrome. He has over 20 years of professional experience as a taxi driver and messenger. Jerry is a graduate of the University of Michigan and well-known speaker and author.

Mary Meinel Newport, Self, Author, Advocate, Individual with AS and has Spouse with AS, Former Driver - Diagnosed with Asperger's, manic depression, head injuries, and PTSD, Mary is the mother of two adult, independent sons who were never diagnosed but exhibit ASD traits and grandmother of two. She is a also a former piano tuner, gemologist, actress and current artist and composer. She drove for almost three decades but no longer does because of health issues.

 
Two Autistic couples, Jerry and Mary Newport and Jody and Emilia Ramey, present their responses to three questions: What prep work did you do before marriage that in hindsight you were very glad to have done; What is one creative solution that you had to a specific marital issue that was successful; and what did you wish you would have known before getting married that you found out later? Each panel participant will have three minutes to answer the questions prepared, than the rest will be open discussion/Q & A.
