9912 Pre-Conference Community Training - Inclusive Faith - A Call to Belong

Wednesday, July 12, 2017: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
Room: 103D (Wisconsin Center )
Faith communities often hesitate to include people because they are just not sure how. By 2019, the Centers for Medicare and Medicare (CMS) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) will require service professionals to incorporate faith community participation in planning for all individuals with disabilities. This workshop prepares your faith-based community to successfully welcome and include people on the autism spectrum, and other disability diagnoses and family members. This experiential workshop will help you gain confidence and provide inspiration and tools so that you will walk out of the session with an individualized plan for your congregants to implement strategies that will create that welcoming and inclusive environment.
