The audience will leave the session confident in various technology tools, have an increased understanding of social media and technology using data as a key part of digital storytelling, and actively use technology as part of this session to provide real time feedback and data collection examples. Content includes excerpts from a training video developed to reach a larger audience of first responders about autism, direct instruction on the process of video and content development, tips and handouts on using data to tell your story from three professionals from PR/marketing and nonprofit consulting. For small organizations who may not have large marketing budgets, this session will encourage and inspire you to capture data in new ways, embrace social media and technology to reach a wider audience by entwining storytelling and data. Examples of how tracking data through regular research and evaluation can lead to engaging local media to share your efforts across a wider community audience will be shared. This session will also include an in-depth discussion with examples on how other collaborative and disease specific groups have increased funding, awareness and collaborative partners using technology.
