Ed Steinberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Ed Steinberg was Assistant Commissioner of Education and State Director of Special Education for the Colorado Department of Education prior to his retirement from state government in July of 2012. A clinical psychologist by training, Ed’s experience includes working in community mental health as a child and family therapist in addition to his work as a consultant to various judicial districts and human service agencies across Colorado.

Sarah currently holds a Self-Advocacy seat on the Colorado State Education Advisory Committee (CSEAC) where she provides input to Colorado legislators related to individuals with exceptionalities. Her most recent position was with the Colorado Department of Education as their Parent Liaison Consultant. Sarah enthusiastically oversees the Connecting Families with Autism (CFA) Mentoring Program, Educational Advocacy, and the Opening Doors™ for Inclusion Program at the Autism Society of Colorado.
