About Rhonda:

Rhonda Hull, Ph.D. is a gifted inspirational speaker, story-teller, and author who deeply believes that the most powerful gift we can give another is to embrace our worth and well-being by taking a stand for our own happiness, even amidst circumstances like autism. At her core, Rhonda is creative and caring channel of change who knows first hand the burnout that comes from forgetting the importance of loving yourself as much as you love others. She has learned from her first-hand experience that happiness is possible in the most unlikely circumstances, and that love - including loving ourselves - is the answer to every question.

Rhonda Hull, Ph.D. experienced the burnout that comes from putting others first and believes that the most powerful gift we can give another is by taking a stand for our own worth and happiness regardless of our circumstances. She knows that renewal comes when we reclaim our worth, value our contribution and learn to recognize happiness in the most unlikely circumstances.

Rhonda knows first hand that life can change in an instant, and your needs drop to the bottom of the list. After working for almost three years as a happiness expert and  associate with Richard Carlson, speaker and author of the famous Don’t Sweat the Small stuff book series, and then building a successful speaking career around her own book, Drive Yourself Happy, she abruptly discontinued her professional travels and took several years off.

In one brief but powerful phone call, Rhonda learned that her grand-nephew, barely 2, had been diagnosed with leukemia and was being airlifted to a nearby hospital. For the next 365 days, Rhonda seldom left his side. This unexpected adventure changed her life.

After a successful bone marrow transplant, Rhonda’s grand-nephew returned home. The obstacles didn’t end there. Soon after Rhonda’s suspicions were confirmed. Rhonda’s grandson was diagnosed with autism. She spent the next three years drawing on her masters in Early Childhood Education and Doctorate in Psychology, and did additional training to set up a home-based therapy program. Rhonda helped to foster the family’s wavering resilience as they groped along trying to make sense of something that just doesn’t make sense. They continue to walk the razors edge, celebrating this amazing little guy just as he is if nothing changes, while simultaneously holding every hope for the unfolding of his fullest potential on his path of possibility.

Such a demanding journey teaches you to appreciate simple miracles. From a little boy who could not stand rain to touch his skin and could not look you in the eyes, they now have a quirky first grader who loves to dive and swim, and every day is a new day guided by intuition and hope.

Autism, and long-term challenges like this, don’t sleep much! The pressures and relentless schedule eventually affected Rhonda’s own health, teaching her the hard way of the importance of balance and boundaries, even when it seems impossible.

Expanded by what Rhonda has learned about finding happiness in the most unlikely places, and then by confronting her own health detours that came as a result of burning the candle at both ends. From her personal experiences, Rhonda knows the challenges and the blessings of relentless care-giving. These experiences have fortified her faith in the power of women as change-makers, revealed the deep need for support and renewal where there is little, and has exaggerated the importance of sharing the lessons she has learned along the way.

In her heartfelt presentation designed to refuel hope in the heart of women running on empty, Rhonda inspires those who are hungry to reclaim their worth and give with greater stamina by taking a stand for their own happiness, seeing in a new way that it is the greatest gift they can offer another.
