This program is a facilitated discussion forum targeted at grandparents, but also useful for parents, caregivers, patients, etc. It will provide an opportunity for sharing thoughts, emotions, and ideas for coping skills. Hopefully through sharing we will see the need to rejoice on a daily basis in the triumphs big and small these children bring to our lives. It includes handouts for possible discussion topics and a short video presentation. Come prepared to share in the discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • To provide a forum for discussion of all aspects of daily living with someone on the autism spectrum. Topics include sharing emotions, trials and ideas that have helped with coping skills.
  • Facilitate a discussion to find some way on a daily basis to celebrate and rejoice in the achievements and successes of our grandchildren, children, family members, and patients.
