But what are program essentials that every provider needs to have in place to ensure the unique needs of each child with autism can be met consistently? This engaging session will provide participants with an understanding of the 5 elements essential to designing and managing an effective autism program: (1) Trained staff; (2) Plan alignment to child’s assessed needs; (3) Evidence-based methods; (4) Well-designed activities target evolving objectives; and (5) Effective communication among staff and with family.

Kevin Custer is the CEO of AutismPro, which helps educators improve outcomes for students with autism. In 2009 he participated in Colorado’s Autism Commission, which developed the state’s 10-year strategic plan for autism. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Autism Society of Colorado, along with assisting the Autism Society of America on the Delegate Assembly Task Force. As a nationally recognized speaker, Custer has presented to many state and national associations, including CASE, ASBO and CEC.
