Effectively support individuals with explosive behaviors by using a visual system of train cars to depict stages of explosive behavior along with stop and go signs showing effective support strategies to use during each stage of the explosive behavior cycle. This model has been successful with numerous students (Early Childhood through Adulthood) and is taught to teachers around the state in the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Autism Training Project.
This Powerpoint presentation describes an effective way to support individuals with explosive behaviors by using a visual system of four train cars to depict the stages of explosive behavior along with stop and go signs to show effective support strategies to use during each stage in the explosive behavior cycle. Learners will go away with an understanding of  how to create an individualized visual system to use in supporting a person on the autism spectrum who experiences explosive behavior. This model has been effectively used with numerous students (early childhood through adulthood) and is included in the Wisconsin DPI Basic Level Autism Training Project.
