Gregory Abowd
Distinguished Professor
College of Computing, Georgia Tech

Gregory Abowd is a Distinguished Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech and the Executive Director of the Georgia Tech/Emory University Health Systems Institute. His research focusses on applications of information technologies embedded into physical environments to support everyday activities. As the father of two sons on the autism spectrum, he has been motivated to direct his research efforts to the many information challenges arising from autism and related developmental disorders. Dr. Abowd is a former Rhodes Scholar, a 2007 recipient of the ACM SIGCHI Social Impact Award and a 2008 inductee as an ACM Fellow.
