#3197- DIR/Floor Time: A Developmental Relational Approach to Play Therapy with Children Impacted by Autism
A theorectical, conceptual, and practical approach to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with developmental delays such as autism through a developmental relational based form of therapy known as DIR/Floor Time. Floor Time takes into consideration the actual level of the child's current state of development, while supporting any underlying individual neurologicial differences that may be impeding the child's development and utilizes the child's relationships to his/her world to assist in boosing that individual's level of functional emotional growth.

Presenter:Esther B. Hess, Ph.D., The Center for the Developing Mind, Developmental psychologist - Dr. Esther Hess, a licensed psychologist specializes in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with autism and Asperger's Disorder. Her expertise is in the application of a developmental relational play therapy model DIR/Floor Time as devised by Stanley Greenspan. Dr. Hess has a private practice in West Los Angeles.
