#3193- Pensacola: Creating A Center of Excellence for Autism
A group of business leaders in Pensacola, Fl. and a hard-working ASA branch have teammed up to make this Panhandle Community A Center of Excellence for Autism in less than two years.
It started with a major fund-raiser that raised $170,000 in one night to support what has become an 8-week, full-time summer camp. The camp was part of a national news story by NBC.

Presenter: | - Kevin Doyle is the president and publisher of the Penscola News Journal. When he arrived two years ago, he noticed that the autistic kids in this Panhandle city did not enjoy the benefits his grand daughter did in California and he set out to do something about it.
| |||
We can do it either way -- with a panel or one presenter. If it was a panel, it would consist of four Pensacola business leaders who made a difference. We would have video, photos etc. that can be produced by my film crew at PNJ.com. Each of the panelist would discuss one aspect that has made Pensacola a Center of Excellence for Autism and show the audience how they can do the same. |
