Potty training is one of the most significant milestones in a child's quest for independence. For years, the problems of potty training children with Autism has been a difficult one to master. Parents and teachers are invited to participate in this workshop, which focuses on helping children with Autism become independent in the area of potty training. The potty training skills workshop has a proven track record that features a high degree of success.
This workshop offers a proven and highly effective method to potty train students with Autism. This individualized program has a very high rate of success. Hundreds of parents and teachers have tried this potty training program and praise its results. This method will shorten the potty training time as well as teach the participants other techniques to use in order to make this a wonderful experience for both the parent/teacher and the child/student. Parents and teachers who have used this method in the past describe it as highly successful and easy to implement. Some specific areas of focus for this workshop are: -Participants will learn to develop and individualize a successfull potty training program that is motivating to the student/child. -Participants will learn to identify and target specific skills that are necessary for the student/child to become successful in the area of potty training. -Participants will learn to facilitate potty training through the use of specific skills targeted at helping the child/student to listen to his/her own body. -Participants will learn skills to help the child/student to acquire necessary skills to become fully independent in the area of potty training.
Learning Objectives:

Brenda Batts is a Behavior Consultant, and the mother to a teen with Autism. Brenda shares her proven potty training and behavior management techniques through her vast experience as a parent/teacher trainer and her book, "Road to Independence." Brenda is also the owner and director of Focus on the Future Training Center, a private school for children with Autism in Plano, Texas. Brenda has presented at The Texas State Autism Conference in 2005 and 2006. Brenda presented to a support group in Paris, France, and has done many presentation in the North Texas area for different Education Service Centers.
